Money Hai is a story of six losers, Bobby (Govinda), Lalbhai (Manoj Bajpai), Gaurav (Aftab Shivdasani ), Shruti (Celina Jaitley ), Manik (Upen Patel ) and Ashima Kapoor (Hansika Motwani ). All of them are very ambitious. Bobby wants to make money without working, Lalbhai wants to be a good businessman but always loses money, Gaurav wants to open is own advertisement agency, Shruti wants to open her own boutique, Manik wants to be a supermodel and Ashima wants to become a television star and then enter Bollywood.

The six get a call from dying man called Jaiswal (Prem Chopra), who nominates all of them to his wealth. Unfortunately, the six soon realise that the company is in huge debt, and it is up to them to bail the company out. Whether they manage to pull it off or not forms the rest of the story.

Money Hai is not all about comedy, as you might expect from a Govinda starrer. It has a heavy dose of drama in the second half, which is a tad boring.

But the film has its moments, like the ones when Mukti Kapoor (Rakhee Tandon), who spoofs Ekta Kapoor makes her entry. Also, every time Manoj Bajpai loses his money.

The film should have been edited better. The director takes his own time to introduce each character, parts of which should have been cut down. The story finally starts only in the second half.

Music is good, especially the song, Ta na ta na, picturised on Esha Deol .

Govinda is the best among the lot. But where are his punchlines?

Hansika, playing a television actress, who is bored with saris and wants to wear sexy outfits, is good. The scene where she interacts with Mukti Kapoor is especially good.

Manoj Bajpai makes you laugh, while Prem Chopra looks silly.

The rest of the cast — Aftab Shivdasani, Upen Patel, Celina Jaitely, Kim Sharma , Archana Puran Singh, Ravi Kissan and Viju Khote — are all wasted in the film.

Money hai is a timepass film. Watch it, if you are a Govinda fan.

What makes this award all the more special for Hannsika is the fact that she competed with 18 actresses from Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films.

Desamuduru has also fetched Hannsika the Best Debutante Maa TV Award, instituted by the Telugu film industry.

With a couple of awards already in her booty, Hannsika is well on her way to becoming the next southern superstar. Hope the same success is seen in Hindi films, too for the actress

So tell us something about your new film Money Hai To Honey Hai…

This is a comedy film and I play the role of a TV actress who wants to become a Bollywood star.

Isn’t that what you’ve done in your real life?

Well, the role is close to me… not that what is shown in the film actually happened to me. But it is very close to real life. It is an inspiring role and I hope I’ve been able to do justice to it.

From a single heroine movie, you’ve come to sharing screen space with two others. How does it feel?

Esha Deol does a guest appearance in the film. And Celina also has a different role. And being around them is anyways great. It gives me a boost. I have learnt a lot from them.

Multiple heroines always result in catfights. Did you fight?

They are such nice people. They pampered me. We were all like a family. (By now we were convinced that this little girl had grown up reading celebrity interviews and has probably mugged up some of the clichéd answers really well. So we decided to ask her something new. Something that we couldn’t probably ask anybody else…)

Himesh in your first film. And now Govinda. How does it feel to act with stars almost double or triple your age?

There’s nothing like actors being double or triple the age. Even if I’m told to act as a 60-year old, I would. Working with Govinda is an honour. Age does not matter at all. I am in fact happy to have worked with Himesh in my first film and now Govinda.

How is it working with Ganesh Acharya as your director in the film?

I have worked with him as a child artist. And then again in Aap Ka Surroor. He was the choreographer. So it’s really nice to work with Ganesh Acharya.

Tell us how does it feel to being a child artist on TV to being a heroine today?

It’s a huge difference. I have changed in looks. And my personality has also changed. TV was very time consuming. I had to shoot every day. There’s a huge gap between TV and mainstream Bollywood cinema.

So who would you like to work with? Any favourites?

I would like to work with everyone. Today everyone is big. And I would love to work with any of the big actors.

Don’t you rather think that a younger actor would look good with you than a Himesh or a Govinda?

That only the audience can tell. How can I say?

How does it feel to have so many fans? You do know that there are millions of fansites dedicated to you, right?

I am honoured to have my fans. It’s only because of them and the hope that they have given me that encourages me to do every film. If I can be called a star today, 70 per centof the stardom is because of my fans.

Many big actresses are doing action films. Would you?

I have done a drama Aap Ka Surroor and now am working in a comedy Money Hai To Honey Hai. So if the role demands it, I would do it.

What about kissing scenes?

(Giggles) It depends… (on what? We wonder) Well, if the story demands it…

So do you have a dream role?

Mmmmm… well not really…it depends…

Do you aspire to be a size zero anytime?

Not really. My motto is to be healthy.

Well so Hansika is definitely not going the Kareena Kapoor way. But she is just seventeen. So we never know what this little actress will grow up to be…what we do know is that she is still a little confused child who’s kind of lost with all the stardom thrust upon her. They would make the cutest pair in the tinsel town. If the sources are to be believed former child actors (of course grown-ups now) Aftab Shivdasani and Hansika Motwani are seeing each other.

The pair has been spotted on numerous occasions, in Mauritius, enjoying each other’s company and generally living it up. The two actors are in Mauritius as per their shooting commitments.

It so happened that one fine day, the cast and crew of the ‘Money Hai Toh Honey Hai’ began asking actress Hansikaa Motwani what actor Aftab Shivdasani was doing in her room. Shocked by the question, she tried her level best to explain that Aftab had never entered her room and that they had got it all wrong. After thirty minutes of justifications and explanations, Hansikaa was almost on the verge of tears when Govinda told her that it was just a joke they were playing on her.

The video Ishq Na Karna was shot in Mumbai and is the third video from the album Phir Bewafaai, where Hannsikaa has been paired opposite Gaurav Kakkar.

The song has been sung by Agam Kumar Nigam along with Tulsi Kumar. Divya Khosla Kumar has already directed an earlier video Woh Kisi Aur Se from the same album.

Says Hannsikaa, “I loved doing this music video. It was a great experience. Of course, I am looking for films now, but this music video is set to rock.”

Divya Kumar Khosla chips in, “When I heard Agamji’s album Phir Bewafaai, it touched and entered my soul; it was so haunting. Most of us go through betrayal in love. This feeling was something both of us could identify with and I wanted to create something very emotional AND touching, thus I worked on the concept of Ishq Na Karna.”

Phir Bewafaai is a compilation of 10 romantic ballads with moving compositions written by Praveen Bharadwaj and Prashant Vasl. The music director is Nikhil while the choreographer is Seemaa Desai. The Cinematography is by Vinod Gandhi. The album is produced by T-Series.
