Saif-Kareena to tie knot soon says mum

Buzz up!Sending media into frenzy, this affirmation, came from Sharmila on the occasion of the Censor Board of Film Certification meeting which was held at Jodhpur, India. Although, the couple has said time-and-again that they don’t have any intention of getting married soon, as their career is much more important than the marriage.

However, Sharmila Tagore’s statement clearly indicates that something is surely brewing between the lovey-dovey couple and they might have changed their mind and decided to tie the knot. Currently, Saif and Kareena are doing great professionally and have big projects in their kitty; therefore marriage is still a long shot, but mother-in-law Sharmila seems to believe otherwise!

Though the ongoing promos of the flick show her in disguise as a Sikh cricketer, the actress has also been styled in another chic avatar where she will be seen in bikini tops.

A close hand reveals, “A song was shot recently with Rani in which she shed all inhibitions. She’s ready to fire up the screen with her hot new body.”

The actress has been working out for long with celeb trainer Satyadev ‘Satya’ Chaurasia who helped shape Aamir Khan for Ghajini.

The close hand further adds, “The film also stars Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra. Both girls are known for displaying skin. Rani who is the main star, has to be notches above. The actress has shed a lot of weight for Dil Bole Hadippa. This film is extremely important to her as she will be seen on the big screen after a long break. There has to be a novelty factor.”

‘Yes, I did call Shah Rukh Khan to invite him. When Kareena and I suddenly decided on Sunday evening to have a party, we decided we’d invite the entire industry. This wasn’t a party to celebrate our success alone. It was also a party to celebrate the success of ‘New York’ as much as my own film. So, apart from me and Kareena, the party’s unofficial hosts were Katrina (Kaif), John (Abraham) and the entire ‘New York’ team,’ said Akshay.

Akshay has often accused members of the film industry of trying to sabotage his films but he still wanted everyone to come together for the success of two films following a slump.

‘I want them to celebrate any success and not be happy when films fail. When ‘New York’ was released, SMS messages against the film were sent out. The same thing is happening with my film. Why be negative? Specially when I’ve always been happy for all my colleagues’ successes?’ Akshay asked.

‘So yes, I personally called up Shah Rukh and all my colleagues for the party. But he’s shooting in San Francisco…There will be plenty more occasions, I’m sure,’ the actor said.

The party hosted at the Marriott Hotel Monday night was Akshay’s first ever.

‘I completely shy away from parties. But this time I think we all needed to express solidarity and happiness over the end of the prolonged slump,’ he said.

The impromptu party was Kareena’s idea. ‘We quickly drew up a list. She invited her friends. I invited mine. Then we began making the calls. Then there was Tina (wife Twinkle) who called her friends. That just about covered the whole industry,’ Akshay added.

And how was the party?

‘No drinking for me. But a lot of dancing. It was a lot of fun,’ the star said.

After Rakesh Roshan and Goldie Behl, it’s Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s turn to make a superhero movie, which is titled “Ra.1″.

The computer savvy Shah Rukh has come up with this unique title for the hi-tech sci-fi film, which Anubhav Sinha will be directing.

Though Sinha refused to comment on the project, a source said: “In fact, Shah Rukh is taking very keen interest in the scripting of ‘Ra.1′. And the director Anubhav Sinha would like Shah Rukh to be credited as a screenwriter for the project, if and when his production house Red Chillies actually sets down to making this ambitious sci-fi thriller.”

Hrithik Roshan has always held Sanjay Leela Bhansali in high esteem and has always made a wish to be on the directors list. It is now heard that Sajay Leela Bhansali approached him with a project and Hrithik ever so eager has also signed on the dotted line.

However there has been no official confirmation of the project. Hrithik’s spokesperson has neither denied nor confirmed the project. All details about the project remain a secret. But considering the powerhouse of talent that both the director and actor are, the movie promises to be a sensation.

Hrithik is presently shooting for his home production Kites with director Anurag Basu the actor was not reachable. It has now been heard that he has injured his knees too and it will be sometime before he comes back to Mumbai. Flamboyant filmmaker, Sanjay Gupta was recently seen in a Mumbai pub getting cozy with his long time assistant, Jasmeet Dodhi. Gupta who was earlier linked to Sameera Reddy followed by Dia Mirza is estranged from his wife Anu. Jasmeet after assisting Gupta on a few projects was given a chance to direct a story in his Dus Kahaniyaan. Her directed story Love Dale had starred, Aftab Shivdasani and Neha Uberoi.

Earlier there had been talks of Gupta having a special fondness for Jasmeet as he had taken her along on vacation to the US along with him. Just recently, our source saw them in a Mumbai pub sharing physical affection also including long lip locks! They both looked as if they cared a damn about what other around them may be thinking of their behaviour. They were also later seen going back together in Gupta’s car. Of late Imran Khan’s perky heroine from ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ has been denying her relationship with Riteish Deshmukh with a cliché “we’re just friends” statement.

She’s reportedly said, “I’m very much single. Riteish is a friend. But that’s it. I’ve no idea where these rumours come from. We’re both very busy. When we occasionally meet up, we’re normal with each other, not the least self conscious about what’s written about us. I’m very new to all this..”

It is said that when Amitabh Bachchan enters the scene everyone in the industry makes way for him. But not this time! The release of Big B starrer Alladin has been delayed and the reason cited is Aamir Khan’s Ghajini.

AB plays the role of a genie in Sujoy ghosh’s Alladin and it is said that the film aims at children. The shooting of the film has also been complete and they were planning to release the film in Christmas which is the right time for the target audience. But ever since Aamir Khan rescheduled the release date of his film Ghajini because of his illness the makers of Alladin has no choice but to delay the release to February.

However Sujoy has a different version to narrate. “Mr. Bachchan has no competition and we are not worried. We are yet to finish a promotional song with Mr. Bachchan and since he was busy with The Unforgettables we could not manage to do so. The film also targets the kids and we needed an appropriate release. We had to reschedule the shooting dates and hence the delay.”

Guess who is eyeing Salman Khan’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif? It’s none other than his four year-old nephew Arhaan, son of Malaika Arora and Arbaaz!

“My four-year-old son Arhaan has the most incurable crush on Katrina. Whenever she’s around, I become completely unimportant to my son,” Malaika told IANS.

“It’s a family joke that Arhaan is smitten by Katrina. Every time Katrina and I speak she wants to know where Arhaan is so she could take him out,” she said.

After Katrina, Kareena Kapoor too is a favourite with the little boy.

“When Arbaaz and I visited Kareena’s location in Hollywood last month, Arhaan became a total lamb. I ceased to exist. Everything was about Kareena only. And I was shocked when my boy, who gives me a hard time feeding him, would ask for everything that Kareena ordered at restaurants and eat quietly without taking his eyes off Kareena,” said Malaika, who’s known for her dance moves in hit songs like Chaiyya chaiyya.

Far from sharing cold vibes with Salman’s friend Katrina, Malaika actually shares a good rapport with the actress who has written new box office rules by giving six back-to-back hits.

So what are these stories about Malaika’s cold war with Katrina?

“There’s absolutely nothing to this talk of my cold war with Katrina. I’ve no space or time for having these kinds of issues with people. I feel life is too precious for these kinds of run-ins.

“It was written that I didn’t attend Katrina’s birthday. But I was shooting for my reality show (Zara Nach Ke Dikha) and I couldn’t make it. Is that a crime? Are there laws against skipping a family gathering because I was working?

“It was said I didn’t go to Katrina’s birthday because I couldn’t get along with her. Bullshit! And now we’re supposed to have shared cold vibes with Katrina at Salman’s sister birthday party. Why would I spoil Arpita’s party by behaving like such a party-pooper?”

Malaika says she’s a total family woman.

“These are very upsetting rumours because it involves the entire family. I’m such a family person. I’d drop anything for family. Katrina isn’t someone I hang around with every day or go out with for coffees and lunches. But she’s part of our family and I completely respect her presence.

“But, no, she isn’t part of my close friends’ circle. Both of us come from decent families. My parents would slap me if I misbehaved with anyone, least of all Katrina who is part of our family.”

“No one from Arbaaz’s side or my own side of the family can accuse me of behaving highhandedly or aloof. I go out of my way for family. My mother would kick my ass if I behaved like a prima donna. Someone is obviously getting a lot of pleasure by spreading these rumours.”

Is it someone from the Khan family?

“I wouldn’t know. But whoever it is, I hope he or she is having a good time,” said Malaika who will be seen in a full-fledged role in forthcoming film EMI.
