They say a friend in need is a friend in deed. Danny Boyle, the director of eight academy award winner film Slumdog Millionaire, is ready to lend a helping hand to his friend, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. And if all goes well, Shekhar Kapur’s pending project Paani will roll.
Reportedly, Danny Boyle will produce Shekhar’s film that was stuck due to financial problems. When Danny was in India recently he met Shekhar. The duo discussed the film in detail. Needless to say, Danny was impressed with the subject of the film and offered to produce it.
“Danny was bowled over and expressed his desire to produce the film,” a source informs. If the buzz is to be believed, Shekhar’s desire to complete his film Paani will finally be fulfilled.
The dosti between the two legendary directors is almost 10 years old. About Danny, Shekhar reportedly said, “He always encourages me to make Bollywood films and not get seduced by offers from Hollywood. I’ll be happy if Danny produces Paani but I cannot give out any details at this point.”
Paani, a futuristic film is based on the scarcity of water in Mumbai, is expected to go on floors soon.
