The closing month of 2008 could not have been better for the Hindi film industry, as it is time for double celebrations! It is just not Christmas and New Year, rather the super performance of RAB NE BANA DI JODI (globally) and the grand start of GHAJINI that is gladdening the hearts of all concerned with the distribution and exhibition sector. Let us get into the details

As per initial reports, Aamir Khan’s GHAJINI has been off to a blistering start. It is estimated that the Murugadoss directed film is heading for an astonishing 35–40 crore weekend, if collections hold at the present level. What is good is that collections are great from across India.

In the wake of all that, Aditya Chopra’s Shah Rukh Khan starrer is continuing its triumphant run, with a rock steady second week, after a superb first one! The film has netted around 23–24 crores in its second week, for a huge total of 67–68 crores in just two weeks. The film is turning out to be the biggest profit yielding venture for Yash Raj Films and is still holding very well, befitting of an SRK–Aditya project.

Here is hoping and wishing that both GHAJINI and RAB NE BANA DI JODI continue their merry run, well into 2009!
