This is a new Raaz. So if fans of the original are expecting melodious Udit Narayan-Alka Yagnik duets, stop right there! RTMC is high on electronic beats and the composers experiment with new voices – a style that has delivered rich dividends for the Bhatts in recent times.

While the older Raaz had a more mainstream, commercial score that was designed more for a love story than a horror flick – RTMC has impressive yet situational tracks. And fortunately each composer dishes out tunes in his own style, giving the album a lot of variety. So there is no question of comparing the two Raaz soundtracks as they in a completely different genres. And Bollywood sound has also changed a lot in this period.

Mahi and O Jana will do the trick in the promos but for the rest of the tracks to click, a lot depends on how they are utilised in the film. Coming in the wake of Jannat’s super success, expectations are sky high from RTMC. And the team does well to churn out yet another soundtrack that blends convention with experiment. Yet unlike their previous efforts, RTMC might just miss the autos and the Bhatts may have to settle for niche success.
