Vinod Chopra Films next project 3 Idiots got underway in Mumbai which will star Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, paired for the first time.
To be directed By Rajkumar Hirani of the Munnabhai series fame, it is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and also stars Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani.
The movie is based on the famous novel 5 Point Someone penned by Chetan Bhagat about the travails of three I.I.T students. The screenplay has been written by Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi.
“3 Idiots” went on floors early this week in Mumbai with Hirani directing R Madhavan aboard an aircraft. Hirani said, “we are literally off to a flying start. It was amazing to shoot inside a real aircraft. We are really excited and raring to go.”
From Mumbai, the crew and cast comprising Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor will head off to Ladakh for a 20-day schedule. Additional schedules are planned in Delhi and Bangalore with the target date for completion being December.
The lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire and music has been composed by Shantanu Moitra.
